History & Origins
Human Synergistics International was founded in 1971 with the mission of helping organizations realize their full potential through the development of constructive cultures, effective leadership, and high-performing teams. The organization has since become a global leader in organizational development, offering a suite of diagnostic tools and assessments designed to measure and improve the effectiveness of individuals, teams, and entire organizations. The cornerstone of Human Synergistics’ approach is the belief that by understanding and enhancing human behavior, organizations can achieve sustainable success.

What is Human Synergistics?
Human Synergistics provides a comprehensive suite of tools and models designed to improve organizational culture, leadership effectiveness, and team dynamics. At the heart of these tools is the Circumplex, a visual model that captures 12 distinct styles of thinking, behaving, and interacting, categorized into three main clusters:
-
Constructive Styles: Promote growth and healthy relationships, leading to high performance and satisfaction. These include Achievement, Self-Actualizing, Humanistic-Encouraging, and Affiliative styles.
-
Passive/Defensive Styles: Focus on security and the protection of self and others, often resulting in compliance without commitment. These include Approval, Conventional, Dependent, and Avoidance styles.
-
Aggressive/Defensive Styles: Emphasize task accomplishment at the expense of relationships, often leading to conflict and stress. These include Oppositional, Power, Competitive, and Perfectionistic styles.

Human Synergistics Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI)
The Human Synergistics Circumplex visually represents what drives human thinking, behavior, and performance at the individual, leadership, group, and organizational levels. It breaks down these factors into 12 distinct styles of thinking, behaving, and interacting.

The Life Styles Inventory (LSI) is a multi-rater/360-degree assessment designed to identify the underlying thoughts and motivations that guide your behavior. The LSI provides a powerful measure of both your intent and how others perceive your behavior.

Group Styles Inventory™ (GSI)
The Group Styles Inventory (GSI) is a team-based diagnostic tool that assesses behaviors observed by team members during a decision-making session. The GSI evaluates the constructive and defensive elements of group processes using the 12 styles represented in the Human Synergistics Circumplex.

Leadership Impact™ (LI)
Leadership Impact (LI) is tailored for those in leadership roles, particularly senior managers and CEOs. This cutting-edge, multi-rater/360-degree assessment offers unique insights into your leadership strategies and their impact on the behavior and performance of those you lead.

Organizational Culture Inventory® (OCI) and Organizational Effectiveness Inventory™ (OEI)
The Organizational Culture Inventory (OCI) is a comprehensive tool that examines how members of an organization experience its operating culture. It measures behavioral norms and expectations that members will likely adopt in their work and interactions with others.

The OCI also assesses key cultural outcomes such as role clarity, service quality, commitment, and satisfaction, identifying statistical relationships between cultural elements and these outcomes.

The Organizational Effectiveness Inventory (OEI), designed to complement the OCI, identifies the causal factors (or levers for change) that influence culture and its outcomes. When used together, the OCI and OEI provide a powerful combination of behavioral (culture) and perception/attitude measures, offering the most advanced tools available for understanding and improving organizational culture.

Human Synergistics offers a roadmap for transforming the way people work together, creating environments where individuals and teams can thrive. By leveraging these tools, you can build a culture that not only meets your organization’s goals but also fosters a sense of purpose, engagement, and satisfaction among your employees.
Let’s work together to bring the power of Human Synergistics to your organization and create lasting, positive change.

History & Origins
The Process Communication Model (PCM) was developed in the late 1970s by Dr. Taibi Kahler, a renowned American psychologist. Originally designed as a tool for understanding human communication in high-stakes environments, PCM quickly gained recognition for its effectiveness in diverse fields, from therapy and education to business and politics. In fact, NASA even used PCM to select and train astronauts for space missions, highlighting its power in fostering effective communication under pressure.
PCM is practiced in 54 countries by leading organizations, such as NASA, L’Oréal, Pixar, and BMW, and is serviced by a vast network of over 4,000 certified trainers and coaches.

What is PCM?
PCM is more than just a communication tool; it's a science-backed approach to understanding the intricate dynamics of human interaction. At its core, PCM helps individuals identify and navigate six distinct personality types, each with its own set of psychological needs, communication preferences, and potential stress triggers. These personality types are:
-
Thinker
-
Persister
-
Harmonizer
-
Imaginer
-
Rebel
-
Promoter
By recognizing these personality types and the unique ways they interact, PCM provides a roadmap for effective communication. Whether you're leading a team, managing a project, or simply trying to connect better with those around you, PCM gives you the insights you need to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of any situation.

How PCM Can Help You
As a certified PCM Trainer, I’m passionate about helping individuals and organizations unlock their full potential through the power of effective communication.
Here’s how PCM can make a difference for you:
-
Enhanced Communication: Understand the nuances of different personality types and tailor your approach to connect more effectively with others.
-
Conflict Resolution: Identify and defuse potential conflicts before they escalate by addressing the root causes of communication breakdowns.
-
Personal Growth: Gain deep insights into your own personality type, helping you manage stress, improve relationships, and enhance your emotional intelligence.
-
Leadership & Team Dynamics: Equip leaders and teams with the tools to communicate better, foster collaboration, and build stronger, more cohesive teams.
-
Stress Management: Learn to recognize the signs of stress in yourself and others, and discover practical strategies to maintain balance and productivity.

PCM is a versatile tool that not only enhances communication but also fosters deeper understanding and stronger connections—whether in personal relationships or professional settings. Let’s unlock the potential of PCM together and transform the way you connect with the world around you.

History & Origins
The 4Mat System was originally developed by Dr. Bernice McCarthy in the late 1970s. A pioneering educator and researcher, Dr. McCarthy sought to bridge the gap between different learning styles and instructional methods. Her work led to the creation of the 4Mat System, a revolutionary framework that has since been adapted and expanded for various industries, including business. 4Mat4Business is the specific application of this model to the corporate world, designed to enhance training, communication, and organizational development.

What is 4Mat4Business?
4Mat4Business is a powerful methodology that helps organizations understand and leverage the diverse ways people think, learn, and engage. The model is built on the idea that there are four primary learning styles—Why, What, How, and If—that correspond to the way people process information and make decisions.
-
Why Learners: Motivated by purpose, they seek meaning and relevance.
-
What Learners: Analytical thinkers who focus on facts and logic.
-
How Learners: Hands-on doers who learn best by experimenting and applying.
-
If Learners: Imaginative and reflective, they explore possibilities and ask "what if?"
By recognizing these different learning preferences, 4Mat4Business provides a structured approach to designing training programs, presentations, and communications that resonate with every type of learner in your organization.

How 4Mat4Business Can Help You
As a certified 4Mat4Business Trainer, I specialize in helping businesses and leaders harness the full potential of their teams through this dynamic model. Here’s how 4Mat4Business can benefit you:
-
Customized Learning Experiences: Create training and development programs that engage every learning style, ensuring no one is left behind.
-
Effective Communication: Tailor your messaging to resonate with diverse audiences, improving understanding and buy-in across the board.
-
Increased Engagement: Boost participation and enthusiasm by addressing the core motivations of each learner type.
-
Improved Problem-Solving: Equip your team with the tools to approach challenges from multiple perspectives, fostering creativity and innovation.
-
Leadership Development: Enhance leadership effectiveness by helping leaders understand and respond to the unique needs of their teams.
-

4Mat4Business is not just about training; it’s about transforming the way your organization learns, communicates, and grows. By aligning your strategies with the natural learning preferences of your team, you can create a more inclusive, dynamic, and effective workplace.

History & Origins
The Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) was developed by Dr. Elias H. Porter in the 1970s, building on his extensive work in relationship awareness theory. Dr. Porter’s groundbreaking research focused on understanding what motivates people, particularly in times of conflict and collaboration. The result was SDI, a tool designed to reveal the underlying motivations and values that drive our behavior, both when things are going smoothly and when we face challenges. SDI has since become a trusted tool in leadership development, team dynamics, and conflict resolution.

What is SDI?
SDI is a powerful assessment tool that helps individuals and teams gain a deeper understanding of what drives their behavior and the behavior of others. Unlike many personality assessments that focus on external behaviors, SDI dives into the core motivations that influence how we interact with the world. It categorizes people into three primary motivational value systems (MVS):
-
Altruistic-Nurturing (Blue): Driven by a desire to help others and create harmony.
-
Assertive-Directing (Red): Motivated by a need to achieve results and take control.
-
Analytic-Autonomizing (Green): Influenced by a focus on logic, independence, and precision.
Many people also fall into a Hub category, where their motivations are a blend of these three systems. SDI not only identifies these motivational value systems but also explores how they shift when under stress, helping individuals and teams navigate conflict more effectively.

How SDI Can Help You
As a certified SDI Trainer, I’m passionate about guiding individuals and organizations to greater self-awareness, improved communication, and stronger relationships. Here’s how SDI can benefit you and your team:
-
Enhanced Self-Awareness: Understand your core motivations and how they influence your behavior, helping you make more conscious choices in your interactions.
-
Improved Communication: Tailor your communication to resonate with the motivational drives of others, fostering clearer and more effective dialogue.
-
Conflict Resolution: Recognize how motivations change under stress, enabling you to manage conflicts more constructively and reduce misunderstandings.
-
Stronger Team Dynamics: Leverage the diverse motivational strengths within your team to create a more cohesive and high-performing group.
-
Leadership Development: Equip leaders with insights into their own motivations and those of their team members, enhancing their ability to lead with empathy and effectiveness.

SDI is more than just an assessment—it’s a lens through which you can view and improve every interaction within your organization. By understanding what truly drives people, you can build stronger connections, foster collaboration, and create a work environment where everyone can thrive.
